Sheyla Bonnick’s name was brought to the forefront of 70s culture when she became the first leading female singer of the mega famous Euro-Pop group BoneyM.
Her powerful and phenomenal voice still sounds just like the day German singer-songwriter Frank Farian formed the iconic group back in 1973. Her voice gives one shivers in ‘The Rivers of Babylon’, has unreal dance-inducing rhythm in ‘Sunny’, and together with the lyrics from the first verse of ‘Rasputin’ gets you out of your seat and onto the dance floor.
Over the last 40 years, Sheyla and the Sounds of BoneyM have enjoyed many successful tours around the world including hundreds of live performances in all manner of venues; Theatre, Arena concerts, Stadiums, Open-air festivals, Discos, Night Clubs, and too many TV appearances and interviews to mention. Past tours have been seen in Australia, America, Russia, India, Israel, Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, former Yugoslavia, Croatia, and France, extensively in Asia, Scandinavia including Iceland, Malaysia and many more. Now after 40 years, she has finally succumbed to pressure and has agreed to perform her first ever UK national tour!
The show brings back the Sounds of BoneyM, its visual feel and musical history. With sleek costume changes and songs like Rasputin, Daddy Cool, Ma Baker, Brown Girl in the Ring, Rivers of Babylon, Ma Baker and Holiday, it is easy to imagine yourself back in the days of those Frank Farian’s tunes and international stories which made the original concept so huge worldwide.
